WHAT IS GANESH CHATURTHI FESTIVAL

All  Hindus all over the world celebrate this 10-day-long  festival of Ganesh Chaturthi  each year. However what number people recognize what Ganesh Chaturthi is and why it's celebrated?

Ganesh Chaturthi  is  a ten-day Hindu festival celebrated to honour the elephant-headed God Ganesh birthday. He's the younger son of Lord Shiva and god Annapurna. 

Ganesha is Known by 108 completely different names and is that the Lord of arts and sciences and therefore the Deva of knowledge. He's worshiped at the beginning of rituals and ceremonies as he is thought of the God of beginnings. 

He is is also named as  Vinayaka  and  Ganapati . 



Story  begins  of  when Goddess  Parvati  created Ganesh out of dirt off her body before  having a bath and set him to protect her door whereas she finishes her bath.  God Shiva  has gone out  came at that point, however  Ganesh did not recognize  him and  stopped him from coming in .  And due to this God  Shiva get very   very angry and cut the Head of Ganesh after  huge  combat between them .

Goddess  Parvati  was very furious once she come to known all this incident happened with  Ganesha . Then God Shiva told that I can get Ganesh to life again   but for that we need head of any dead Person  . The other Devas  went in search of a head facing north of departed only  managed  to get head  of  elephant. Shiva  fastened the elephant's head on the kid Ganesh body and brought him back to life.


Here are some fast facts concerning the festival Ganehsh Chaturthi :
The festival  begins on Shukla Chaturthi that is that the fourth day of the waxing moon amount, and ends on the ordinal day of the waxing moon amount called Anant Chaturdashi. 

Maharashtra is that the state illustrious for grand scale Ganesa Chaturthi celebrations.

During the festival, vibrant pandals  (temporary shrines) ar setup and therefore the Lord is worshiped for 10 days. 

THERE ARE FOUR MAIN RITUALS THROUGHOUT THE FESTIVAL GANESH CHATURTHI :

1.     PRANAPRATISHHTHA - the method of infusing the immortal into a murti or idol.
2.     SHHODASHOPACHARA - sixteen varieties of paying tribute to Ganesh.
3.     UTTARPUJA - Puja once that the idol may be shifted once it's infusion,Ganpati.
4.     VISARJAN - immersion of the god Ganesh  idol  into the river or Sea. 


Foodies anticipate Modak, a sweet dish is made by  rice or flour full of grated sugar, coconuts and dry fruits. The plate containing the Modak is meant to be full of twenty-one items of the sweet.

The festival  was celebrated as a public event since the time of Indian King Shivaji, however a Sarvajanik (Public) Ganesa idol was put in initial by  Bhausaheb Laxman Javale. 

Lokmanya Tilak modified the festival from a personal celebration to a grand public event "to bridge the gap between Brahmins associate degreed non-Brahmins and realize an applicable context within which to make a brand new grassroots unity between them".
