Ganesh Chaturthi is a ten-day Hindu festival celebrated to honour the elephant-headed God Ganesh birthday. He's the younger son of Lord Shiva and god Annapurna.

The other Devas went in search of a head facing north of departed only managed to get head of elephant. Shiva fastened the elephant's head on the kid Ganesh body and brought him back to life.

The festival begins on Shukla Chaturthi that is that the fourth day of the waxing moon amount, and ends on the ordinal day of the waxing moon amount called Anant Chaturdashi.

During the festival, vibrant pandals (temporary shrines) ar setup and therefore the Lord is worshiped for 10 days.
